I thought Tracy Bonham was the voice of the MTV cartoon Daria I think one of the reasons was the cynicism in both Tracy’s and Daria‘s voices respectfully.   I must admit that Tracy Bonham’s alternative vibe and cynicism in her voice was extremely appealing and attractive but there is a ton of humor in her songs and melodies.   Also a good base a good base is crucial because it is pleasant to the ear.    Which has to be extremely diffcult to do but Tracy pulls it off in much of her work.   One of the things I remember about Tracy Bonham’s songs was her music videos.   In fact Tracy was nominated for best new artist at the MTV Music Awards in 1996 for her music video mother mother.   Ironic by Alanis Morissette won for best new artist that year but still not bad.   I was hesitate to write about Tracy Bonham not because of her lack of talent but the things I feel about Tracy I apply to Fiona Apple so that is my own short sidedness not hers.    Because every sound in Fiona Apple’s melodies are important to her.   I remember when I was growing up adults would say that in the late 1990s that this generation was the cynical generation maybe because of the movies at that time such as Scream.    But I choose to view it as a questioning generation much like Tori Amos instead of a cynical generation because there is so much sliced open because of this basic question which is what emotions caused these musicans of this era to make this music?   Because   what I remember most are the emotions I felt listening to this music.   I really want a bunch of fountain pens those things look extremely cool because they are available in different colors.   So I choose which colors I want to use at any given time.   There are just many different things I think a fountain pen can be used.   Something I noticed that what was known as alternative rock is classified as: Indie pop.   I have a theory on that but I do not understand why this is being made so diffcult to find.   My theory for the classification Indie pop is so much can be placed in that category.   Examples: melodies emotions such as: angry sadness alienation.   Think:  Juliana’s Pony Total System Failure EP.   Beatuful Creature and the Total System Failure EP are available together by: Juliana Hateflied.      But I do not understand why this music is so underground now because much of this music is really excellent.   I am a fan of Florence + the Mechiche I read some fan say this is too loud so it is not for everyone.   At this point there needs to be a VH1 of some kind.   Palladia which is now MTV Live is close but those are sort of dital channels.   Viacom owns MTV Live and MTV Classic. I prefer VH1 Classic by far.   The Colmbia Pictures logo that Quentin Tarantino uses in his movies is extremely cool. I think it started with Django Unchained I just love that vintage Colmbia logo.   Quentin has a pirate ship     which maybe good or bad but at least he has his vision.   I really would like to have some of those fountain pens.   Fiona Apple once said about art that it is a saddle light that you just hope is up where you should feel like there is nothing left in you.   Quentin Tarantino agrees in other words it has to benefit the artist in some way making themselves feel better in some way.   Wheather that is painting a picture writing a song or making a movie.   But the most important point art cannot be forced that is the saddle light.    But that is why many artist lose their edge because they are constanly putting material out there.   That is the main reason I will not be doing this forever unless I have a reason.   I am not giving up or anything like that hopefully doing the project I have accomplished my goal which is to become a better communicator without interrupting anyone which I feel I constanly do.   But I have pretty much said everything I want to say and more I am really not feeling or into this blog.   So I hope I have become a better communicator I have accomplished more in this project then I had ever dreamed!     I noticed listening to an interview that Charlie Rose did with Tom Petty that he and Juliana Hateflied have a similar approach to songwriting.   I got this by reading Juliana’s book When I grow up about how songwriters are hunters looking for inspiration.   Some maybe wondering why I would be comparing an indie rock artist and a rock’n roll icon I am not comparing their music I am just comparing their approach to song writing and melodies.   When I was listening Tom talk about his approach to songwriting I immediately thought about Juliana writing about her approach to the story of my sister I am not sure how my mind works because that was not what I had in mind.   I just wanted to hear Tom Petty talk about music.   The best part of this interview Charlie Rose let Tom talk because he does not say much but he says a lot and I really have to be listening to him. Wheather it is just having a guitar by him to sort of write or just having inspiration with you.   But I feel as if having that guitar with him was much of Tom’s inspiration.   Or how he started to gain his inspiration.    I guess it is similar to Tori Amos and her relationship with the piano.   But one question that Charlie asked Tom what is harder to write the lyrics or the melodies?   He said something I was surprised by that the lyrics and the melodies are both equally hard and equally easy which is not what I was expecting.   Stargate is an excellent sc-fi movie because there was so much detail put into the movie it is not a speical effects driven picture.   Which unfortunaly is the case for most movies. So maybe having so much speical effects in movies is not the best way to go because there is not much storytelling.   The viewers do not have to use their immagination.   It matters how a fan listens to music much like the indviuals who think watching a movie at home instead of going to the theater is like kissing a person through the phone.   It matters how artists intended their music to be heard.   Not the most convenient or the easiest way to hear music but how it was made to be heard.   For example: I go on youtube to discover music but it is not the way I prefer to consume music.   Metallica did not like Napster because it was not the way they wanted their music to be consumed.    Also not the intention it is a like a panting where the artist wants you to view it a certain way.   It is like a movie where the artist wants the viewer to have a certain experience.     The way an album is presented is part of the art.   James Hetfield explained it this way if you walk into an art studio there is an artist who put that art together the way he or she wanted it to be viewed.   It could be similar to viewing a movie on a certain type of film. For example: Quentin Tarantino intended The Hateful 8 to be seen in a movie house on a certain kind film 70mn.   Not because something got leaked online which is a huge pet peeve of mine.     A lot of times it takes a certain amount of time for any kind of art to catch on which is the nature of art.   The opening match to Slammiversary 15 was under Lucha Rules to for the GFW Global tag team titles and the Impact tag team titles. Team Mexico which featured: Garza JR who is nephew of Hector Garza who was the captain of Team Mexico during the very first of the few NWA TNA World X Cups.    Team Japan and LAX Santana and Oritz lead by Konan.   Slammiversary 15 featured the six sided ring so because this was under Lucha rules it was nonstop action because anyone could tag anyone at any point.   Which meant when a participant went out of the ring another could go out of the ring.   Slammiversary 15 in 2017 was also speical because it featured the final in ring appearance of Impact legend “The Cowboy James Storm taking on EC3 in a strap match.   I think this is when Impact started to be at its absolute best.   Because TNA/Impact had years where the product was extremely diffcult to follow despite the talent that Impact had at the time.   Now Impact is extremely easy to follow and at its most enjoyable to watch.   One of the great freedoms of music it allows an individual to express emotions that make an individual come off as aloof because it allows a person to express emotions that are unacceptable to let me say “polite society.   But coming off as aloof can come off as arrogance to people who do not know you very well that is not the vibe I want to give.   It is why I have a compulsion or I am possessed in some way I hope it stays healthy to not only listen but to absorb music this is not a passive experience.   I need to gain everything in a melody or whatever it might be because it varieties in what I am searching.   I hope all of this gets better with age because time truly gets away from me.   Time gets shorter all the time time slips   away.   Henry Rollins said in his song shine by The Rollins Band that the ones who don’t do anything are the ones who are always trying to bring you down.   Maria McKee released a great couple of songs such as: I am going to soothe you and life is sweet.   Maria is problay best known for her country material and some of this such as: I am going to soothe you has some country flavor to it at times but it does not lose its pop sensibility.   These songs are reminiscent of Belinda Carlisle’s album Real.     If you want to find anything about Maria McKee maybe go on youtube and type in my lonely sad eyes.   Which is a cover of a Van Morison tune.   I love I am going to soothe you because it is so sweet and very pleasant to the ear and is hopefully proof that not all men are pigs.   But this was classified as alternative rock at the time.   Life is sweet really has a dark edge to it which is uplifting at the exact same time.    I think it is about not giving up it is a song about the outcasts.    The song I can’t kill myself from Juliana Hateflied I find it to be an extremely romantic song about someone who cannot commit suicide because this person has a limited vocabulary.   This indivual puts his head in Juliana’s lap while she is driving.   Here is where the romantic pitch comes she does not trust anyone to treat this person right.   That is extremely sweet and reassuring.   There are many people out there who want to change what other people enjoy for one simple reason they do not understand why.   Most of the time they do not want to take the time to find out why.      I am not going to change anything that I like to please anyone maybe to my own detriment.   But if music or something is bad I would not give it a second thought.   I do not care how attractive someone is if there is no connection or something I can relate it does not matter.   For example: Milla’s song precious time also known as: Milla Jovovich.      I do not understand commenting on something I do not like I find it to be a waste of time.   I have never understood it I wish more would adopt that for a simple reason we are not going to be here forever.   Albert Einstein said that imagination is more important than knowledge because there is a limit to knowledge but imagination is limitless.
