The relationship between music

It is immaturity to think you can assess a person’s character  by what they say privately social media definitely  made it worse and because young people want to be famous  and because  the standards of what is right and wrong changes according to the woke left that is a huge issue and it is usually  young kids on Twitter who are discovering something for the first time sorry but standards of what is right and wrong do not change what is right and wrong does not change I remember a time when there was no social media and people seemed much happier without it.   I can understand wanting recognition in fact it is good to want recognition but the desire to be famous for anything no matter the cost is a huge problem for especially young people because if they are getting their self-worth  from how many likes they get on social media they are guaranteed to have  an un happy life because they constantly compare themselves to other people life is not a contest but unfortunaly I think many start to believe that when they are young and that needs to stop the best thing any of us can do is not cave to this mentality because the only reason this keeps happening corporations and people keep giving in the best thing we can do is stop guaranteed you are going offend someone on some level especially if they are looking to be offended.   Punk rock had nothing to do with s and m it all started because a group of indviuals believed they had to claw their way and to climb though walls to have their voices heard it was similar to the counter culture that took place in the 1960s which is also how a new form of rock began in the late 1980s and early 1990s the same with alternative rock in the early to the late 1990s in the 1980s this type of rock was known as indie rock examples: Aimmee Man and X look up the song motel room in my bed from their 1982 album Under the Big Black Sun.   Alternative rock started to gain popularity because many of the musicans and bands started getting their music videos played on MTV which meant radio followed suit.   The only local radio station I can think of dedicated to playing alternative was 96X which did not last long the alternative rock that I loved did not last long on MTV either once  rap and hip-hop started to gain traction that was it.   I  liked Bill Bellamy he always seemed like he was having fun and a nice guy because he was the VJ on MTV that hosted for rap hip-hop and R and B but it really was not my thing: come on but Bill made me think that is what I want to do I loved his enthusiasm he was one of my heroes growing up but it still took over   the culture so I  was stuck  with either rap and hip-hop or boy bands and during that time Gangster rap became popular.   Shairly Mansion said in an interview: with Joe Rogan that during Garbage’s popularity if a musican or band was not an alt band record companies did not want anything to do with them  that certainty changed very quickly.   I am greatful that we had those shows on MTV Alternative Nation and 120 Mintues even though Alternative Nation was a little bit before my time and once those two shows went away all MTV had was TRL.   Because for me the music played on Alternative Nation and 120 Mintues helped me find my voice to not be so angry and depressed all of time so it was really there when I needed it.   The music industry has changed so much compared to when I growing up because I would see a music video that I liked and I want to see it again and if I heard it on the radio that was awesome I did not buy a lot of CDs growing up but when I did I was so excited or I would hear something on the radio that was another huge thing for me now there is no relationship to the music it is just disposable and back ground noise where the thinking is there is new music from a band I like I just look it up on Youtube or I will just download it that is difficult for me to understand because I grew up loving music and still do now I have to find it on Youtube and find it by accident and I can say this finding new music on Youtube is very difficult because you have to know exactly what you are looking.   Most people are not going to take the time to search for music if it inconvenience them in any  way.   For me it has always been about the music it was never just background noise I felt I had a relationship with the music.   There is a huge difference between listening to music downloaded on the internet compared to listening to it on a radio boom box or stereo but I can say most people I have talk to about this do not notice a difference so I am just going by my own personal experience there is a part of me that wishes I never heard music on a boom box because I never would have noticed a difference but I noticed how much I was truly missing.   I agree with Eddie Trunk I do not understand why Grunge/alternative rock and 1980s rock/hair metal could not   mesh together for example: Warrant and Alice in Chains are both great  bands but instead  of having that diversity 80s hard rock became uncool and Grudge became cool.   So radio’s format was changed from playing 80s hard rock to playing Grudge  and music from the 1970s.   Side note: I do not like the term hair metal the only reason I am referring to it as such  so people know what I am referring.   The term hair metal was only used in the 90s to make  fun of those musicans and bands sadly that stigma has  never left the mainstream.   I do not understand why no other era is singled out such as: the 80s but it is.   I worry about fans not only not having a relationship with music but not having that relationship with the DJs much like when I was growing up I felt as I had a relationship with those VJs on MTV and VH1.   I know the argument will be things change but I can say for sure that this is one of the reasons the music industry is non existed because of the internet and Youtube because new music will come out and it will be popular for a couple weeks and then it is almost as if it did not existed at least with when MTV and VH1 played music videos music had more of a chance to appeal to not just the hardcore fans but more of the mainstream As anyone ever heard of Daisy Fuentes?   She used to be a VJ on MTV she eventually married Richard Marx the guy who performed the song it don’t mean nothing and right here waiting for you.   It don’t mean nothing I kind of like but for the rest I really do not care.   I am  really a huge fun of Latin Pop  musican Shakira I know that does not sound like me but I do like to mix it up and I truly do love some  of Shakira’s music my favorite Shakira’s song is objection tango  but I have said that I do not talk about musicans and bands that are popular I just happen to enjoy them I have never watched The Voice but I know Shakira  was a coach on The Voice that maybe the only reason I would want to watch The Voice I really do love Shakira I am really not a fan of EDM but I do love Pretty Poison and Jade Starling and Shakira is really one of my favorites.
